Tap at 4:20 in Rome-Italy. Black color with caramel-like highlights, tick irregular ivory/brownish foamy head. Nose: silky notes of smoked mozzarella, coffee reminiscence. Very elegant as an aroma. Mouth: carbonation is medium-low, body is esile with a solid character of roast, coffee, bitter finish.

Cask glass @ CML Fontainas. Black creamy with some brief mocha bubbles. Nose is dry soy sauce, mocha, powdery dry, mocha, roasted malts. Taste is dry mocha, intense smoke going over into soy sauce, dry mocha, grainy chocolate, simple bit on smoke with some soy sauce. Straightforward beer but a nice one, pretty close in quality to the Imperial version. Not sure if this beer benefited from being served on Cask, it felt a bit watery & lacking in some carbonation.

27/12/2016 - draught @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Black colour with nice light yellowish head. Nose is first heavy smoked bacon, some roast. Taste is smoked bacon, roast, some caramel, some cream, light sweetness, bitter ending. Gently drinking for a smoked but challenging enough.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket hjemme 3 Nov 16. Svart. Høyt luftig mokkafarget skum. Litt lacing. God aroma av røyk & lær. Smaken det samme. Blir litt syrlig bitter etter hvert. Røykpreget henger i.

On tap at Bir & Fud, Rome. Pours black with medium beige head. Roasted malts, some smoke, chocolate, caramel, wood. Sweet with some bitterness in finish. Light to medium bodied.

Mørk brun, nesten svart med høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter kaffe, fløte og kakaopulver. Kjenner også røyklukt, gammelt bål. Søtlig noe saltbitter smak. Salt lakris, søtlig vanilje og kakao. Middels lang.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Deep dark body with a ruby glow. Scattered lacing. Bubbly, light brownish coloured head, fine duration. Dark malty aroma, with nuts and caramel, carefully smoked. Roasted earthy, chocolate malts, impact of smoke, wood and dark dough. Semi- sweet malty finish. Soft in the mouth. Nice and likable. (Hotel room, Harstad 27.10.2016).

Brewdog, Rome. Dark, black colour with a small tan head. Initial smokiness with some coffee and chocolate aromas coming after. Smokey flavour, some sweetness, and hints of chkcolate and fruit but for me the smoke dominates the flavour. Some ashiness in a light dry bitter finish.

Tap at Scurreria Beer & Bagel, Genoa, Italy. Pours black with a lasting off white head. Aroma is moderately smoked with light chocolate. Medium body, slick texture. Not overpowering smoked finish, mixing with some chocolate and coffee. Pretty good.
