A 9.1% Tettnang pale ale. This special beer is the stronger, richer partner of Ad Infinitum. As with all our beers, it’s open fermented with our house Saccharomyces culture before a longer, slower fermentation in oak with house Brettanomyces and dry hops.

Billowing foam sits on a beer of Orval orange. The aroma offers hugely complex fermentation character: ripe apricot, persimmons, quince jelly, pears stewed in muscat and subtly perfumed Brettanomyces character. The palate has the full bodied but dry elegance of a good Belgian Tripel but with a rich, expansive bitterness in the finish.

Bottle shared in Brussels. Pours unclear gold with a bubbly white topping. Medium sweet flavour, fairly funky, bit of brett, barnyard, bread, mild bitter hay, tangerine. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Mild warmth to finish, but of bitterness. Not bad.

Bottle from the Wee Vault. Appearance - cloudy orange with a snow white head. Nose - funk, orange, bread and lanolin. Taste - brown bread, orange, funky and tart. Palate - medium bodied, zesty middle and dry tart finish. Overall - good! More about the balance of the palate than any fruity high points.

Bottle from the internet somewhere. It pours lightly hazy cooper with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is funky, barnyard, hay, oak, zingy, tangy, lemon - lime, sour plum, fizzy apple candy, sour apple chewits, gooseberry, spicy and damp hay. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, dry oak, spicy, hay, straw, dry grass, touch of dried florals, old leather sofa, nip of boozey warmth, deep funk, brett, tannin and a dull metallic note with a drying, funky finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Aroma is pretty exceptional. Perhaps the taste falls a bit flatter, but is decent anyhow. Firmly dry oaky stuff.

Bottle, online from Rad Beerin Shropshire. Pours hazy golden amber with a small cream head. Aroma: malty, fragrant, woody, vinous, grassy. Taste, dry, light tart, funky, vinous, apple yeasty. Medium body with soft carbonation. Super complex, I'm sure I didn't get all of it. Tasty stuff.

Hazy golden colour with thin head. Aroma has perfumed woody notes and something a little grassy. Taste starts dry and stays that way. Slightly funky. Elements of grape and apple.
