Tea Party is back and better than ever!

A refreshing and aromatic cream ale with loads of character. Brewed with green jasmine tea, Tea Party has a warm aroma of herbs, spices and subtle notes of orange and grapefruit peel. Clocking in at 6,5% ABV, Tea Party is what you might call a gentle assassin – gentle and smooth but sure to kickstart your summer party.
The recipe was developed by Mikkeller’s founder, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, and Stefan van Maaren (UK).

[33cl can from Beer52.] A blonde pour with a slight haze and a scattering of white head; aroma of grass and green tea; immediately bitter in the mouth with some sharp grapefruit and a caramel malt body - not at all like I expect from a cream ale; then a lingering herbal bitterness and a slight burning sensation to finish. Not at all what I was expecting, and not an experience I'll be rushing to repeat.

Creamy white head stayed on a hazy dull gold body. Confectionery aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue with sharper back. Pithy, citrus, herbal, lemonade & yeast tastes. I find Cream Ale the hardest style to review but a great style.

33cl can via Beer52; BB 31st Mar 2021. Brewed by De Proef in Belgium. Drank at home on 7th Jun 2020 during the virus Lock In. Weak white head on a slightly hazed golden body. Doesn't taste or smell like a cream tea to me, or does a Cream Ale with Green Tea not class as a Cream Tea? Anyway it's different and interesting, but lacks the 'Green Tea' bit of the hype.

7/6/2020. Sample courtesy of the SHIG, cheers! Pours clear dark gold with a moderate creamy/frothed white head. Aroma is light, floral, slightly herbal. Much more to taste, nice bitterness with subtle sweetness. Bitterness continues into finish, and a little of the tea does come through, but only a little. Quite a tasty brew even if the aroma was under-whelming.
