A jet-black monster of a beer with heavy notes of dark roast coffee and dried cacao nibs, that slowly gives way to dark Belgian sugars and sticky malt sweetness.

Can at a tasting with the boys. Full body, med-light carbonation. Lots of maltiness, cocoa, coffee, deep roast. Sipper. Alcohol present too, med-light warmth, but not overwhelming. Quite tasty, quite good.

Pitch black pour with beige head. Roasted malt and a boatload of hops - resinous, citrusy, some tropical - dark chocolate, some coffee. A solid US-style imperial stout, roasty and hoppy and sweet. Very enjoyable.

Pours viscously as brown-black motoroil to a small greige head. Fruity nose, blackberries, bit of chocolate, alcohol & fusels, mild roast. Roast, if sweet with a drier, more bitter metallic flavour. Bitter chocolate. In the finish though, I get hops, dry hopbales and tobacco. Rich, voluptuous texture, faintly burning MF. Alcoholwarming. Ah, for once a not over-vanillinated stout. Not spectacular, but good. Thanks to Stef!

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown with a few faint swirls of fine bubbles. Aroma of roast malts with a hint of chocolate. Taste is more of the bitter, roasty malts, mild sweetness, cocoa. Simple, straight forward, hits the spot.
