Ursprünglich war das Zwicklbier nur dem Braumeister vorbehalten, der, in früherer Zeit, das Holzfass kurz angestochen hat, um das reifende Bier zu verkosten und das Fass dann mit einem Holzzwickl wieder zu verschließen.
Das Zwicklbier wird unmittelbar nach dem Nachgärungsprozess abgefüllt und überzeugt mit seinem von relativ wenig Kohlensäure geprägten, fülligen Körper

Cask at Arts Café. Lightly cloudy, straw colored. AROMA- very low, touch of yeast and malt. FLAVOR- slightly sweet, yeasty, bready, malty. Medium bodied.

Tap. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is pale malts, grassy. Taste is pale malts, grassy. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation.

Hazy yellow, offwhite head. Hay and grass. Medium light body, hay, grass, light rural, nice but a bit thin.

(bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Mildly grainy malty aroma with doughy and strawy notes, accompanied by shades of herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly grainy malty base with subtle fruity notes of citrus and delicately herbal spots; mildly sweet and restrained bitter hopp finish. Drinkable, but nothing to seek-out for. 28.XI.16

50cl bottle. Pours clear golden colour with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of gainy malt, floral hops, wet hay.
