9th August 2021 Opaque dark brown beer, short lived dark brown bubbles for a very fleeting head. Palate is pretty light for the massive abv, its also semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Good boozy chocolate cake backdrop. Light coconut frosting. Fruity bourbon emerging along with a little alcohol spice. Light finish re-emphasises the chocolate cake and brings light but surprising touches of port wine and brandy. Not the sumptuous BBA treat I was hoping for. But a treat nonetheless. Very easy drinking for such a big Impy and with a flavour profile that is rich and rewarding but a couple of strides off the well trodden path.

Pours black, no real head. Smell is sharp, bit 'plastic' , mild booze. Taste is full, intense, roasty, sweet. Very enjoyable ! vanilla is still there, coconut is mild. Maybe a bit too sharp and boozy, but certainly more than enjoyable.

23 February 2019. (Tasting formerly known as) RBBWG. Cheers to all, thanks Kraddel for the hospitality! Bottled: 23/2/17. Hazy black, no head. Aroma of praliné, milk chocolate, hazelnut, coco flakes, custard, crème brûlée, calvados and coffee liqueur, candied fig, raisin, mocha. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, lots of chocolate, praliné covered in custard with some hazelnut, next to fruity notes of raisin, date & blackcurrant; leading to a medium roasted bitter middle, providing the necessary balance in the form of roasted nuts, mocha, chocolate pwoder and a salty-umami soy accent. Dryish, herbal & earthy hoppy finish, more chocolate, mocha & touch of vanilla, good dash of warming alcohol (some coffee liqueur, some bourbon). Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very rich, full, yet balanced, feels 'pure' as well.
