Bottle from Spar, drunk on the hotel balcony on the last night of vacation. Dark nutty-malty goodness, pretty dry with a moderate body and smooth bitterness on the back of the palate. Light to medium roast notes, i think i taste chocolate malt. One of the better Hirter beers I've had on the trip.

Gentle dark lager, with notes of chocolate and caramel and sweet red apple, and a mild coffee bitterness on the back end. Good, even if it never quite develops the depth you want.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Fluffy pancake head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant spiders. Licorice and prune aromas. Soft and thin with sweet prunes and pumpernickel upfront turning to earthy licorice in the medium length finish. Easy drinking - I could see putting these away in a beer garden in Austria....

Tap at the braukeller. Dark color with Burgundy shines, tan head, lasting, lacing. Flavor of roasted malts and bread, earthy, light grass and hay, hints of chocolate. Taste a bit flat but clean not sticky rather dusty yet dry, clean. Clean dry finish, light charcoal like bitterness and molasses.
