Kennzeichnend für das Hirter Morchl ist der malzbetonte, eher trockene Antrunk und der trotz vorherrschendem Malzton differenzierten Geschmacksempfindung am Gaumen. Für Malzbier ungewöhnlich schlanker, ja sogar zartbitterer Abgang.

500ml bottle at Bohemian, Deal. Deep ruby with cereal, toffee and dark malts in the mouth. Nice toffee and good malts. Very different flavour on this dunkel, but it’s a good different.

Bottle from some Spar in Graz Poured a dark Cockta-like red-brown colour with a medium to small sized thick beige head that went away slowly. Roasty and somewhat malty aroma.... weak hints of coffee and later on, nuts.. Pleasant taste.... a lovely note of honey, weak hoppy notes, some hints of almond, low low lemony hints, silky body, inobtrusive but quite obvious roastiness going long into the aftertaste. The best dunkel I’ve had so far.

Draught. Nice, sweetish aroma. Very dark brown colour, stable light brown head. Very flavourful. Very roasted and a bit sweet. Liquorice, sweet caramel flavours. Mouthfeel is nice.

Bottle 0,5l. Brown colour. A lasting white head. Some chocolate notes. A bit on the sweet side, but not extreme. Well balanced.

Deep brown red-tinged. Tight head leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Malty to the nose. Taste of malt, caramel and a touch of mushrooms. Well balanced.

Bottled. Dark brown with rich head. Sweet and very mild. Rounded and roasty with notes of spun sugar. Lightly salty finish.
