Large foamed white head stayed on an unclear slowly carbonating amber coloured body. Fruity, cereal & bread aroma. Medium to full, smooth creamy sticky & cloying. Malt, herbal, stewed fruit & bitter hop tastes. Tasty but heavy going.

Bottle in the garden, 16th April 23. Pours clear golden. Aroma of bread caramel, yeast. Taste is smooth, dough, sweet and some caramel, a bittersweet close, with hay and fresh grass

Bottled (as Kloster Spezial Festbier, from Alko Web). Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is herbal, grassy, some mild earthy and sweet malty tones. Flavour is herbal, some sweet malts, earth and mild grainy tones.

Bottle at Low Key Taproom Ashford. Slight haze gold colour lasting white head. Slight spice on a stronger than usual German lager. Some dryness some bitterness. Some husk on finish. Some golden syrup you get on golden octoberfest beers. Pretty decent overall. Some drinkability. OK.

0,5 l bottle as Spezial Festbier. Clear dark golden with a nearly two finger white foamy head in the glass. Grainy aroma, malt in the second row. Taste ist more grainy with caramel, increasing dry malt, spicy. Sweetness in the background. Some bitter hop. Bavarian standard. Nothing wrong.

Bottle from The Beer Cave. Clear deep golden body with a white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of green banana, dried leaves and rust. Flavour of cereal and honey. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Malty and sweet.

Bottle from the Beer Cave. Appearance - golden with a thin white head. Nose - corn, dry biscuit and just a hint of citrus. Taste - orange and brown bread. Palate - light to medium bodied, malty with gentle bitterness. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours clear pale yellow - gold with a small white head. The aroma is fairly sweet initially, doughy white bread, rich tea biscuit, custard creams, cereal, toasty grain and a hint of marmalade. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, biscuity malt, custard creams, oily, muffin, dougy white bread, touch if orange marmalade, grain and cracker with a shortish dry finish. Light body (the the style) and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth & body to it, but it drinks fine.

Als Spezial Festbier. Sattes Gold im Glas, schöne Perlung, stabiler Sahneschaum. In der Nase sehr getreidig, Haferflocken. Im Trunk wieder Getreide, cremig, würzig, leicht bitter im Abgang, recht bekömmlich, spät Hafer, passt.

Weltenburger Kloster Spezial, hergestellt durch die Brauerei Bischofshof, Regensburg, für die Klosterbrauerei Weltenburg, Flasche von Edeka Dillinger, Kelheim. - Schön goldgelb, blank. - In der Nase füllig-geschmeidiges, zart toastiges helles Malz mit zarter Nuß und sehr dezenter hopfenwürziger Herbe mit zartem mediterranem Touch. - Antrunk füllig und glatt hellmalzig mit leichter Toastnote, dezenter Malzsüße und blasser aber qualitätvoller hopfenwürziger Herbe mit leichter Zitronenschale. Milder rezent, vollmundig, sauber gerstig. Im Abgang blaß zitrusfruchtige Herbe. - Sauber malziges, etwas blaß gehopftes Festbier, zurückhaltend aber doch reizvoll. (27.5.2022.)
