Lublin to Dublin is the third collaboration between ourselves and Pinta. This time we have opted for a 7% Foreign Extra Stout to complete the trilogy of Stouts and we really can’t wait for fans old and new of this collaboration series to taste it.

Brewed at O’Hara’s Brewery, this Foreign Extra Stout is intense, full-bodied and complex. The pronounced roast flavours bring forward the more subtle dark malt characteristics of aniseed, vanilla and dried fruit. The addition of Polish hops with their unique heavy and earthy flavours perfectly balance the intensity of the dark malts, providing a great backbone for this full, satisfying brew.

A deep dark stout with a thick creamy brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, light coffee grind, musty character, pleasant. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, grassy hops, roasted character, pleasant.

Tasting at Brian's
Black colour, the head disappears quickly. Nice aroma, roasted nuts, cookies. Good body, with light residual sweetness, strong rosted malt character, also roasted nuts and a trace of salty liquorice.
Very good Stout.

Medium brown. Thin head. Has a soft, chocolatey aroma, and a similar palate. Wouldn't call it a foreign stout, more like a stronger sweet stout, but lacks either the roastiness or the fruitiness of foreign stout. Maybe a touch of fruitiness, but mostly cocoa and chocolate in the finish. OK stout.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out oats and toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with oat, toasted malt, and a sort of briny character. Rather briny and lacking body, but pleasant enough.

(bottle, 33cl) Black coloured hue with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Moderately roasted and slightly peated malty aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and subtle fruity accents. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasted malt character with a whiff of peat-smoke, dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice; balanced and lingering, slightly salty finish. Complex and well-crafted. 08.II.18

Dark brown with little brown head. Aroma is peat, chocolate, chipotle, milk sugar, some cinnamon. Taste is dark chocolate, some smoke, some spicy chili, coffee ground. Drinkable. A bit spiky on the tongue but any molasses keep the smoothness. I like.
