During the late 1700s, when trade relations between India and England was established need for a beer that could stay fresh during the long journey. Therefore brygdes hard humlat beer with higher alcohol content that went under the India Pale Ale. Our IPA contains only aromatic hops from the United States, and is therefore under the name Sitting Bulldog.

Draught at The Flying Barrel, Göteborg. Poured a copper body with a small white head that went away slowly. Dusty, caramelly nose, maybe even chocolate. And the same continues into the taste, but with some ashy and herbal bitterness, that carries into the aftertaste as well. Hmm. Guess this is another more "English" attempt at the style, though I’m not positive that’s entirely the case.

Draught at GW68, Stockholm, on August 16, 2010Slight bit hazy copper color, big lasting fluffy tan head. Hoppy, sweet, metallic taste. Bitter hoppy aftertaste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel. Medium to medium high bitterness. Herbal hoppy scent.Fairly OK beer. Second time in a few days I try it, though rather bleak compared to many other IPAs available. Easy drinking though. And very good for a Spendrups (yes, I have my doubts)

300ml cask. Enjoyed before noon at Glenfiddich Warehouse with my taste buds in good shape. Hazy orange with a low, white head leaving spotty lacing behind. Rather discreet aroma of dried fruits with hints of sweet spices beneath. Orange fruits mixed with herbal dryness and malty sweetness in flavour. Distant bitter ending, short-lived. Refreshing and alright early on a new day in Stockholm, 29.07.2010.

(Draught at GWH68) Poured deep amber and lightly hazy. Head was quite large, long lasting and white. Aroma was sweet, fruity and hoppy. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were lot of hops, fruitiness, malts, sweetness, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter and hoppy.

Medium coarseish beige lasting head. Brown body. Dried fruit and cinnamon aroma with malty notes. Dry citric fruity resiny taste with dusty notes. Mid-bodied. Dry, faintly acidic, wooden resiny aftertaste with fruity notes. Nice, but not too remarkable. (0.4l draft at Tegnérs Gömställe.)

Draught@SBWF2009. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is grass, wood, mild fruits and some rather earthy notes as well. Flavour is caramel malts, some fruits, mild yeast and some earth. 5 3 5 3 10.
Rerate April 2016, Draught@Office Bar, Vaasa. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity and some grassy and wooden notes to it as well. Flavour is sweet fruits, some toffee, mild spruce and sweet maltiness as well. A bit sticky sweet in the finish, otherwise nice. 7 3 6 3 13.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 19 Sep 2009) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of pine needles, resin, herbs and a touch of alcohol shining through. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, hints of pine needles, solid caramelly malt and a dry finish with a slightly metallic bitterness. Medium body. Solid, tasty and nice IPA.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear amber, creamy head. Light grapefruit aroma. Caramelly and rather sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. A mid-hoppy IPA that provides what I expect, but not more.
