During the late 1700s, when trade relations between India and England was established need for a beer that could stay fresh during the long journey. Therefore brygdes hard humlat beer with higher alcohol content that went under the India Pale Ale. Our IPA contains only aromatic hops from the United States, and is therefore under the name Sitting Bulldog.

On tap at Ardberg Embassy. Clear amber beer, little white head. Palate is crisp with lots of minerals. Medium hops, not bitter at all but with good sweet pine and a tart orange - tangerine citrus. Whisper of marmalade. Semi sweet orange. Okay malt base. Overall a light and easy drinking IPA.

Keg at Ardbeg Embassy, Stockholm. Pours clear ruby with a big, foamy off-white head. Juicy pine aroma with ripe citrus notes. Big sweet flavor, further ripe citrus, caramel, toast, grass, very faint citric tang, grapefruit. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Medium sweet finish, slightly dry, with moderate resinous feel, toasty malts, some jammy berries, more ripe orange, mango, grapefruit, mild grass. A nice IPA. Goes to the edge of almost being overly sweet, but doesn’t take the plunge, thankfully.

Restaurant Pelikan, Stockholm bottle: Pours amber with some head. Grapefruit aroma. Taste is really missing something important. Hops are there, but the finish is bad. Kind of mediocre IPA. Maybe the bottle was a bit old, but I have to assume that it is fresh; furthermore, it did not taste like standard old IPA.
