Belgian Style Dark Ale with Cherries
Inspired by the bounty of the Fall harvest, the final entry of Pelicans 2018 lone Pelican series features ripe, tart cherries in a ruby -brown colored Belgian-style dubbel. A deeply complex malt character of Coffee, caramel, cocoa and dark chocolate provides the foundation while bright tart cherries add the highlights. Belgian-style Abbey yeast creates gentle fruity aromatics that underscore the malt and cherry contributions. A dry, warming finish caps off a smoothly full-bodied beer. The layers of complementary flavors create a deeply satisfying ending to this year's fruit beer series.

22oz bottle pours out cola brown topped with a sand head. Nose is cherries upfront, with some nice belg pit fruit candy sugar and spice. Taste is more of the nice sweet candy sugar cherries and a belg spice yeast profile on the end.

Bottle from my wife, xmas gift. Mahogany pour with scant, filmy head. Cherries feature prominently in the aroma, Belgian yeast, prunes, raisins. Taste starts with the cherries, but isn't sweet. Its also kind of thin though, which detracts slightly from the overall experience. Got much better as it warms
