Pour is a cloudy amber with a small almost nothing head. Aroma is a little wood and some sour lactic acid with just a touch of the brett. Flavor is some dark fruit and a big cherry. Finish is a little sour and some brown ale type malt is left on the tongue. A lot of flavors here but nothing wanted to stand out and take center stage. The can said this was good until 2022 so maybe with some age things will come out more.

Can. Pours a clear orange gold with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet grains and light fruits with some flora, black anise and a bit of oak backing. Flavor has strong anise with sweet grains, an odd floral ester and a bit of oak underlying.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours amber or light brown with a beige head. Light anise aroma. Med body or so. Flavor is Brett and anise with some musty wood. Fairly dry, not too bitter, decently Brett. Malt is clearly in it. A bit off the beaten path, but pretty decent. I like it.

Pours a strong black tea from a bottle, tan head retains, pillowy with small bubbles. Nice vinegary aroma, some fresh oak, some funky brett. Flavor is similar, a touch of anise, could deal with more. Thin yet oily, ends with some phenolic bitterness and a bit more of the anise. I've begun enjoying this more as I get into it, it's a little rough at the start. Good beer.

Can from Boise Co-op. Snifter, Pours out a nice deep amber, foamy head recedes to clumpy skin. First on the nose is some brett, with some malty, leathery notes underneath. Tadte hits with some gentle tart brett, sweet fruity notes, prunes, woody, tobacco. There's a solid old ale in there, lurking just behind the brett. Nice blend of styles.

Star anise mixes well with the oaky and funky Brett.
