Ale X is a tribute to the hop lover. Our signature blend of flavoursome and aromatic hops, with clear citrus, pine, spice and herbal notes, creates a powerful and complex IPA that plays with the palate and triggers imagination. Luckily, the recipe for this IPA was accomplished accidentally after a fortunate mismatch that led to the unique hop blend.

Keg at the Pint Shop, Oxford, 19/05/18. Clear golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is melon, tangerine, light breads, sweet malts. Taste comprises light orange juice, straw, soft breads, toasted grains, floral notes, sweet, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. So so ... too sweet and lacking bitterness.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Another gushing opening, resulting in a murky amber pour with a billowing cream head;yeasty aroma with traces of banana and lemon; bready body with lots of tropical fruit to start, then bitter grapefruit giving a clean and crisp finish, with some lingering yeasty spice. A good session IPA once allowed to settle - hopefully the conditioning will improve in the future.
