After a day of ripping apart storm fronts, we imagine our ax yielding icon would kick back and enjoy this hoppy Cloud Ripper IPA. With Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, and Citra hops, the bitterness is most prevalent at the front end and middle of the beer, but finishes as clean and smooth as the calm after the storm.

Taster at brewery. Bright golden, no head. Mild hoppy aroma, picks up a bit in the taste, Oily and sticky. Lots of hop character without an assault on the palate. First impression was not good, but its fairly complex, so it give it a minute.

Hazy, light amber. Aroma of orange and grapefruit. Some sulphur, stewed fruit hops, not characters I look for.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a hazy orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out grapefruit and herbal hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of grapefruit and astringent hops. Dry crackery malt in back. Decent but rather astringent.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is tropical fruit and pine. Medium mouth, juicy hop, grapefruit, light resin finish, very good.

Keg at the brewpub, 07/11/14. Hazed orange amber with a decent light beige covering that retains well. Nose is floral hop, light pine, citric peel, orange pith, straw. Taste comprises pine licks, grapefruit, tangerine, orange pith. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter hop presence. Ok IPA.
