Aroma is caramelly, bready. Taste has a bready, caramel malt sweetness backed by moderate hop bitterness. Toasty, caramel-tinged flavors. I was expecting way less. I had this years ago but I don’t remember it being this good.

On tap at Wallace, pours a hazy dark copper amber with a small white head. Aroma is almost nonexistent, with bready notes and little else. Flavour reveals dry bready notes and little else. Boring but clean. Lame.

Bottle from Homebrewstuff. Reddish brown pour, small, weak beige head. Malts dominate the aroma and taste, sweetness, like from molasses, minor earthy, peat notes. Not much of a finish, fades fast.

22oz bottle picked up at Yokes in Richland
Pours clear reddish/dark golden with a small off-white head, some lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and dark fruit, some smokiness. Taste is similar, toasted malts, caramel, ashy and fruit
I wasn’t expecting much on this one but I was pleasantly surprised.

Bottle, $4.99 at Safeway in Butte, MT. Nice reddish amber pour with a. Creamy beige head. Bonus point for my plastic (clear) hotel room cup. Nose is sweet and malty, wheat, and apple cider. Malty taste is less sweet, sort of musty with peat. It does hint at Irish red ale as the label suggests... or is the batch variance that bad? Faint dirty floral hops. For what it is, it’s OK.
