On tap at Albertson’s pours out a brownish amber topped with a sand head. Nose is big sweet malts honey and a light pine citrus hop. Taste is more of the heavy malts honey sweetness and not much hops.

On Tap hazy amber with a thick lasting light tan head. Lots of malty heavy woody bitterness. Sweet dark fruit and decent hop character. Big, but comprimising. Surprised to see a claim of 100IBU. Not very impressed.

Draft at Bier:Thirty. Big, boozy IPA, dark chestnut body, smallish off white head. Booze comes through in aroma, then piney hops, hints of malty nature come in last. Taste also puts the hops way out front, alcohol burn, nice caramelly malts are detected after the burn. Very hoppy, and very boozy, but tasty stuff.

On tap at the PIB. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A big fruity nose, toffee. The flavor is yeasty dryness, cherries, toffee, citrus. Quite an odd IIPA in some ways. I think it is the honey. Anyway, pretty nice.

On tap at PIB 2016, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops upfront, with lots of caramel. Flavour is huge on both the caramel malts and resinous hops, with fairly high residual sweetness on the finish. Big caramel body to this. Very good.

Draught at Mckay’s Taphouse, Bellingham
Golden color. A good lean IPA with animal hops. Balanced, pleasant. Very nice.

Sample at Über Tavern. Clear copper color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with hops and malt notes. Full-bodied with a moderately bitter hops and grapefruit character, with some grainy malt in the background. The finish briefly hoppy then ends sweet with honey and malt. Decent overall.

Tap at Backwoods, Carson, 24/05/13. Clear dark amber with a thin beige head. Nose carries hop notes, caramel, sugars, orange, many of the right notes but a little on the thin side for a 10% DIPA. Taste comprises caramel malts, sugars, hops, orange pith, bitter grapefruit. Full bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Drinkable DIPA but a little dumbed down, no real depth or punch to this one, alchocol was well hidden if indeed it was 10.1% as per the beer list! As I found with most of the Backwoods beers, it was drinkable but some way short of being top draw, glorified good level home brewing to be blunt!
