Bottle at Drei Kronen - Memmelsdorf, pours a clear amber with a large beige head. Aroma has gentle campfire smoke upfront, bready malt, and a hint of dry toffee. Flavour is moderately smoky, with campfire smoke upfront, backed by a dry bready malt base. Compared to Schlenkerla and Spezial, this is pretty timid, but definitely well-made and satisfyingly smoky. Very good.

Clear dark amber colour, white foam. Nose of caramel, smoked ham, some fruitiness. Very well balanced Rauchbier, nicely smoked and well balanced sweetness. Good!

Right. Clear, copper color and a nice white head. Smokey nose, nutty, caramel smokey and bitter. Dece t hops.

Flaska från Bierothek. Aningen disig mörkt gyllengul vätska med lågt krämigt skum. Mjuk men tydlig rökdoft. Syrlig, lite vass munkänsla och kroppen känns lite tunn. Rökigheten en mjuk och fin med ved, chark, torv och läder. Ok

Brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma is the highlight—a mix of woodsmoke, caramel and salami. Taste is bitter, finishing both a touch sour and a touch metallic. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Draught @ the brewpub, Memmelsdorf. Pours hazy orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt amd smoke, with eatery touches. Bitter, smoky flavour with sweetish notes of malt and yeast, and touches of hops. Smoky and malty aftertaste with estery notess. Decent.

Optisch schönes Kupfer, in der Nase schon recht rauchig. Im Trunk sehr angenehm, nicht zu brutal, schöner Schinken bis in den Abgang, passt.

500ml bottle. Clear, copper-ish, brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Smoky, malty, minimally leafy aroma, notes of smoked ham, smoked eel, a touch of wood ashes. Taste is dry, smoky malty, slightly woody and leafy, minimally diluted notes of smoked ham, smoked eel, a touch of green wood, wood ashes. Watery texture, smooth and slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced, a tad watery - nice but not legendary.

Draught (Drei Kronen, Memmelsdorf) - Amber in colour. Smoky and malty aroma with notes of ham and rye. The taste is slightly smoky but is mostly malty with notes of rye, dried apricot and ham.

Sampled at the source. Clear amber color, beige head. Aroma is malts, rauch, smoked ham. Flavor is malts, caramelised sugars, rauch, sweetish and lightly bitter notes at the same time. Decent. 6-4-6-3-12.
