Über 100 Jahre lang war der Hagener Stadtteil Haspe geprägt von der Schwerindustrie. Bis zu 7.000 Mitarbeiter fertigten dort Schmiedeeisen und Stahlerzeugnisse in der insgesamt 3,5 km langen „Hasper Hütte“. Die gelb-braunen Rauchwolken, die damals aus den Thomaskonvertern kamen und sich über den Stadtteil legten, nannten die Hasper leicht eu-phemistisch „Hasper Gold“. 2017 haben wir diesem Namen eine neue, positivere Bedeutung gegeben: ein naturtrübes Pilsener Bier, das durch seine klassische kalte und langsame Gärung seinen hopfig-herben, untergärigen Charakter erhält.
An die Hasper Hütte und damit eine der wichtigsten Anlagen der Hagener Industriegeschichte erinnert trotzdem auch heute noch unser Etikett.

330ml bottle from EU Secret Santa trade. Pours clear gold, light lager malt sweetness on the nose. Taste seems to meet a standard pils approach, moderately sweet, lightly fruity, fairly clean and light, with no off-notes. Fine.

330ml bottle. Barely clear, yellow-ish golden colour with small, creamy, diminishing, white head. Rather weak, minimally floral and fruity, hoppy and minimally spicy malty aroma, a touch of marzipan, biscuit dough, grapesugar. Taste is minimally sugary malty and floral-fruity hoppy, a touch of marzipan, biscuit, grapesugar, white grapes. Pilsener?

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A slightly hazy deep golden beer with a mid-sized to small off-white head. Aroma of mild fruity hops, grainy malt, spices. Taste of grainy bitter malt, spicy hops, low sweetness, long bitter finish.

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly unclear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Mildly grainy malty aroma with slightly herbal hoppy accents. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Balanced malty base with cereals and herbal hoppy spice, leading into a rounded finish with a good bitterness-sweetness ratio, including cereals, as well as slightly herbal and grassy elements. 33cl bottle from Edeka in Breckerfeld. Smooth grainy nose, the beer starts grainy and round. Malty, grainy and sessionable. Easy to drink, dusty yeast, grain. Nice.
