Spielbacher Spezial Hell, vom Faß im Hof der Brauerei. - Orangegold, klar. (30.8.2023.)

Keg at the brewery. Golden with a large fluffy white head. Clean, malt forward with notes of apple and subtle floral hops. Lacked somewhat in bitterness but still enjoyable.

On tap. Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Pale malty, light bready almost and a clean finish.

Medium golden color. Fairly nice nose of cereal and apricots. The mouth is like unfermented wort, toasted malts, very low bitterness and way way too low carbonation (which really hurt his beer imo). Very drinkable, smooth mouth. Decent stuff

Aroma is vanilla cream, hops, apple juice. Taste is a bit stale noble hops, cumin, some green type phenolic. Finish is the same. Low carbonation. Not sure whether I like it.

Bottle. Deep golden, low foamy head. Berry, grainy, light honey crunch aroma. Medium mellow body, slightly watery. Oxidized grainy malt, light sulphur, hay and grass finish. Perhaps better fresh?

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is earthy, herbal, a touch oxidized. Taste is a touch buttery, earthy, rustic, oxidized. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. I can imagine this is quite nice when on tap.

(swing top bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Biscuity and buttery malty aroma with notes of honey-ed cereals, traces of barnyardand draff, as well as hints of herbal hops far in the background. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Mildly buttery malt character with notes of biscuits, cereals, honey and subtle fruity accents; sweet and delicately bitter hoppy finish with cereals and mildly herbal notes. In combination with the cosy brewpub propably wonderful, although they had “only” Bockbier on tap when I was there. 14.XII.17

Tap(The Swan, Rothenburg ob der Tauber):Deep golden, clear, big and stable white head; sweetish grainy nose , faint traces of aromatic hops with a slight rural touch; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, nearly medium bodied, very soft and a bit sticky; slightly lingering grainy and rural finish. A very nice franconian session Bier...
