Can shared at work. Chocolatey, earthy, somewhat roasty stout with oat touches. No trace of the sorachi, which is a shame cause I would’ve liked to see how it works in a stout. Oh well.

Can drunk at home on a strange August day after the temp has changed wildly from just two days before. From Aircon straight to sweaters! Hence this beer, which is dark brown with a respectable light brown head. Roasty nose with a hint of Sorachi Hops and full cacao notes. Wow, nice chocolatey mix on the tongue, bitterness balancing the remaining sugar, huge bitter ending. Overall quite nice.

On tap at Walhalla, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, earthy hops, and gentle red fruits. Flavour is roasty, moderately hoppy and gently fruity, with medium roast, some dark red fruits, and earthy hops. Smooth, roasty and balanced. Well-made.

Can, 7.8%. Good fruity hop aroma, hint of salt liquorice. Black colour. Good stable plasticky light brown head. The flavour is nicely roasted with vanilla notes and raw liquorice. The vanilla was good but unfortunately it vanished quickly. Toasted black bread finish.

Good, not great. A bit cloudy. The sharp bite of the hops is spot on and balanced perfectly with the round body and restrained roasted malts. But a bit muddled mouthfeel. Walhalla Amsterdam

On tap at Mout, Groningen. Pours black with beige head. Some roasted notes, chocolate, citrus hoppiness, maybe some rye. Some sweetness, hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 28 Aug 2019) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of citrus. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, citrus and a generous roasty, citric bitterness. More than medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well made stout with a generous hop presence. Excellent beer.
