Tipsy verrast de tong met zijn diepdringende zure smaak, verkregen door zijn maturiteit. Eenmaal de zure storm is gaan liggen, schijnt een licht zoete zon die voor een verfrissende afdronk zorgt. Door deze mooie combinatie ontstaat een balans die de dorst lest en naar meer smaakt.

Clear dark brown colour with mahogany hue. Aroma and are malty and slightly woody, oaky. Subtle dryness and vinous red fruit tartness. Full bodied. Interesting and nice.

Thick, quite stable, whipped eggwhite-like cream coloured head over dark cola-coloured beer. Woody nose, hardboard, cardboard, brown candi sugar, liquorice, melanoidins, smelling sweetish but suggesting dryness at the same time. Sourish-sweetish flavour, not unlike Oud Bruin, if a little more watery and a bit more liquorice-intoned. But the fresh, sourish flavour is a very alleviating factor. Fruity hints. Medium bodied, ever so slightly thin, medium carbonaion. Quite nice, great to see such an old Antwerpen beer reborn. Thanks to Stef!
