Bottle 500ml. @ home on the terrace.Clear medium orange colour with a large to huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, fruity, sugary - sweet malt (bock alike), moderate hoppy, grass. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sugary - bockbier, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120525]

500ml bottle from Reading BF 2011. Drunk on train on way home listening to New Order. Clear deep gold colour. Thick lasting white head. Some lager puke on aroma. Some creaminess too. Now changed to Nena 99 Red Balloons in the original German as its the only German song I own. Aroma settles down into cereal toast with a touch of honey. Some sweetness on the swallow too. Finish of bitterness is helped by the carbonation. Not hugely fresh according to ths best before. But seemed ok to me. Some hop on end. Some warmth and sructure from the extra abv. Some herb on the finish too. God I live cold lagers. So good. I liked the fullness and earthyness of it. Good. It grew on me

Draught at the brewery’s restaurant as Josefi Bock. Clear copper colour. Small off-white head. Good malty and caramelly flavour. A bit sweet like a Bock should be, and with a nice amount of alcohol to balance it. Very well-balanced and pleasant.

Bottle - Many thanks to Sebastian (DerDoppelbock) for trading!
Lightly hazy, deep golden body. White head, diminishes totally. Hoppy aroma with some citrus. Moderately sweet, moderately bitter flavour. Has some guts in it, but still not very well balanced. I like that it’s not usual, but I don’t like the flavour very much.

A pale brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet matly with lots of caramel as well as lesser notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet and rather malty combined with a strong caramel presence, leading to a dry slightly roasted end.

Bottle: Light amber coloured, mid-sized, quite stable off-white head; sweet-malty nose with a tinge of alcohol and distinctive traces of floral hops; sweet and distinctive bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweet-malty finish with a moderate aromatic bitterness coming later. A ver well quaffable Bock, well balanced and warming..............
