6.11.2015. Tap from cask at Dno pytle. Absolutely classic german style lager, grassy hoppy flavour and moderate bitterness. Good one. 7,1.
1.11.2025. Bottle from BeerGeek. Pretty basic and also boring. Med-light oxidation, feels tired. Mostly clean otherwise, light bready malt and grassy hops. Okay, not great. 6,6.

Bottle at Zapfhahn Bamberg. Clear amber colour lasting white head. Decent malts. Good noble hop finish. Clean. Forgotten how good Franconia beers are. So consistent so good. Some toffee.

Bottle from a REWE in Bamberg. Clear gold in colour, with a slight, off-white, head and touch of fizziness. Very easy drinking for the ABV, with a malty edge and decent bitterness. Good.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel goldgelbes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, würzig. Geschmack würzig malzig, leicht fruchtig, minimale Bitterkeit.

Im Antrunk hopfig-frisch, entwickelt es im Hauptteil eine deutliche Herbe, die das malzige Aroma fast vollends verdrängt. Auch im Nachgeschmack bleibt ein deutlich herber Überschuss. Außerdem ist es für meinen Geschmack doch ein wenig zu wässrig.
--> durchaus trinkbares Bier aus Franken, aber für mich nicht eines der Besten.

Clear golden colour, firm white head. Malty aroma, vegetable and hay. Malty flavour, light bitter hops and caramel. Sweet malty finish.

Bottle @ Benzai thx to myself. Clear yellow colour with a small white head. Smells malts, nuts, sweetish, nice. Tastes malty, sweet, slightly fruity and nice. Nice carbo, thin to medium body.

Das "Märzen" der Brauerei Wagner Merkendorf, Flasche von REWE, Waischenfeld, 22.10.2023. - Orangegelb. - Voller, kernig malziger, leicht fruchtiger Antrunk. Kräftiger im Malzaroma als ein gewöhnliches Lager, aber ohne breite Süße. Leichte Noten von Karamel, Aprikose und Honig. Im Abgang leicht bitter, herb-fruchtig. Samtweiches Mundgefühl; schön süffig. - Sehr angenehmes Märzen, eins der besten seiner Gattung. (RAB: 3,5.)
Neuverkostung, Flasche von Grabsch, 14.2.2026: Wirklich ein kerniges, fränkisch solide gehopftes Märzen. Verdient eine kleine Aufwertung.
