750 mL bottled December 2014, batch 2, SP Stout Week line share, 2/18/24. Clear, bright marigold-hobey-amber. Little/no head. Big honey, light bland cardboard (oxidation) with peppery phenols and fruity cognac in the somewhat mellow nose. Surprisingly little/no oxidation in the flavor, and instead it's a classic English Barleywine character full of rich toffee, vanilla, fruit, raisin and dry phenol in the finish. Cognac slowly makes itself known but certainly helps add dryness and complexity. This has held up insanely well in the flavor and texture. It still has a pleasing chewiness and rich malt depth to it. No booziness.
Dayumn this is smooth, and crazily delicious after 9 years even. Dangerously drinkable. Soft malts, raisins, caramel, oak, cognac. Dried fruits covered by a layer of delicious woody brandy. A pleasure to finally have.

Flaska från 2014, b2. Rost/kastanjebrun i färgen, relativt klar.

(375ml 2017 bottle shared @ Nische's tasting, thanks Otso!) Pours clear deep mahogany with a tiny tan head. Rich notes of dark rye bread, toffee, molasses, deep wood and heavy grape and cognac accents, dates, touch oxidized but I think it’s the barrel. Quite sweet up front, very high flavour concentration but not cloyingly sugary either. Massive into the finish, with a long cognac aftertaste, some toasty nutty roast and spent coffee in there but still above lightly sweet. Full viscous body with very soft carbonation and no real alcohol. Big indulgent beer, the barrel is very sympathetic to the base here and integrates well; only after having variants does one fully appreciate how much it's doing. Super sipper.
