Bottle. Ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, some sweet malts, mild alcohol, dried fruits and some plummy tones. Flavour is figs, plum, some nutty, mild chocolaty, dried fruity, alcoholic and a bit toffeeish tones too. Smooth, but strong and warming at the same time.

Bottle. Black bere with a brown head. Whiskey and caramel aroma. Caramel and whiskey flavor with light spice and light fruitiness. Medium bodied. Caramel and whiskey linger with light spice, light orange, and light summer fruit.

Bottle shared on the bus during RBWG 2015. Pours clear amber with a foamy, off-white head. Rich and malty, some light smokey notes, heavy bread, toasted grains, alcohol. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, moderately sweet. Enjoyable.

375 ml bottle, got a bit of age on it. Pours clear reddish hazel, small off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is dark sugars, roasty malt, some cherry, toasted caramel. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light plus bitter, kind of rich. English style BW for sure. Medium body. Decent.

Another 37.5CL from AFH. Thanks dude!!! split 4 ways at around cellar temp. no head. looks like raisin juice. smells nice. Old but certainly has the vanilla, raisin, brown sugar. Very thin on the carb, dense and oily. coats the tongue well. old mango, old apple, loads of brown sugar, a little bit of latex. would have liked to have a year prior.

375 ml Bottle from a trade. 2014 vintage. Murky brown in color. Weak carbonation level. Aroma of caramel, English toffee, raisins, sugar covered figs.
The flavor is right on... Tons of dark fruit, rich caramel, bitterness is shown stronger than I thought it would be at this age. Good balance, medium plus body.

12.7oz capped bottle. Vintage 2014. Shared by beerbeggar. Surprisingly not old or big. It’s not astringent, it’s not "big" or anything bad. But it’s also not particularly anything, a barleywine with a little age but not offputting. Just doesn’t stand out but nothing bad. Dark amber brown color.
