Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels

Namesake aside, this bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout is worthy of pouring every day of the week. Both elegant and complex, it exemplifies over 10 years of experience in barrel-aging technique. Notes of dark chocolate and vanilla are rounded out with hints of freshly picked cherries, dried figs, and molasses.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: black in color with a finger and a quarter of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, vanilla, dark chocolate, dark fruits, some muddled earthy spices; molasses, light honey, sweet woody/barrel
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine variety of sweetness tones, those light earthy spices slide in underneath (they seem too muddled for me to tell what they actually were); finishes chocolatey with sweet barrel and molasses-like tones
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; pretty smooth along the tongue and some light touches of barrel trying to show super light assertive vibes on the tongue
Overall: a nicely done barrel impy stout I would welcome again!

Bottle at "Johnny's got a new place" beer celebration. Opaque dark brown to black color, average sized beige to light brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, distant soy sauce, soft toasted malts, liquor, nicely sweet-bitter. Awesome flavor. Very very rich. Awesome shit.

Can shared at work. Jet black pour with a tan head. Huge chocolate, molassess, nougat, vanilla, some tannic notes. Boozy, obviously, the finish is dry. Big bodied, but dries out by the end of the sip.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Strong barrel aroma with bourbon, dark malt, chocolate, booze, soy sauce, some liquorice. Quite sweet and heavy, full body, lots of boozy bourbon. Sippable but too heavy on the sweetness and booze.

Bottle 2016. Almost black, coffee foam. Aroma: rich, good, decent bourbon, vanilla, honey, a little clan syrup, barrel sourness, a little chocolate. Truly sour taste, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, good dark sour beer )
