In the beginning, there was nothing. Then an impish brewer piled a ludicrous amount of hops inot a batch of beer. This zymurgical big bang is Epic Armageddon, an apocalyptic assault on your preconceptions and taste buds. It may be too huge for this fragile planet so enjoy this beer like it was the last one on Earth

Pours golden amber into a snifter. White head crackles and recedes to skim surface. Toasted nuts and resin aromas. Full with upfront sweet caramel turning dry in the astringent pine and resin finish.

Bottle sampled at SIB, pours golden orange. Aroma and flavour of hops, citrus, and malty sweetness.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Grapefruit aroma. Pink grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with rind and light caramel. Medium bodied. Nice bitterness. Grapefruit lingers with light caramel and light pine.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Copper with a decent off-white head. Aromas of citrus and floral. Med. body; foamy carbonation. Quite floral; such a shot at English ale! Nice smooth bitter finish.

Light amber with a small beige head. No bead. Aroma is a blast of pine and grass with some grapefruit, earth and caramel. Taste has tropical and stone fruit touches to go with biscuit and caramel, then some resin and citrus. Medium bodied. Finish is quite bitter and just continues the taste. It’s American style, but there are some English fruity/ floral things there too. I really liked the hop character here, but the malt side was not quite as good. Jolly expensive, too.

Staff recommendation at Churchkey. Bottle. Clear dark yellow, scant head and lacing. Aroma of grass an anise, very nice. Taste is an explosion of freshly cut grass and scallions, very nice indeed.
