This beer is one of a kind! Four different malted barleys combine to create a distinctive, full-bodied beer with a roasted nuttiness, uniquely enhanced by a hint of hazelnuts. Smooth and creamy with the nose of the Williamette hop, this porter is a beer style unto itself.

First I thought I’d like it but now i see it is hazelnut. Not sure why brewers ruin good porter with nuts. Has a fairly good smell, sweet and a little nutty. Very nice attractive pour. Thin creamy head stays. Yez, it is a good porter and it would be better without the nut thing. I’m just curious if it really haz nuts in it. Goes down fairly easy but gets a tad cloying at times with that sweet nut thing. Some sizzling co2 in there, but just enough to know its there. Mildly old burnt wet campfire wood finish. Porter is certainly better without any flavors added.

12 oz. bottle, newer labeling simply states Hazelnut Porter dropping the “Riverdriver”. Ok, I used a English pint, showing Dark brown liquid with red highlights. Thin white head. Light lace. Subtle nose of hazelnut, roasted notes, and light coffee. Taste follows the nose. Hazelnuts throughout. It’s really nice if you like hazelnut. Body is a bit thin. Mouthfeel is dry and roasty. It does have an underlying sourness hiding in the background. It takes away from it just a tad. Overall I like the flavor. I could drink more of this. Would love to try on draft.

A deep dark porter with a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, , a rather herbal chocolate with light nutty notes, roasted coffee, not bad. In mouth, a smootuh nutty porter with roasted coffee beans, caramel, herbal hops, quite nice.

Bottle, small stable beige head, opaque dark brown colour with reddish hues, aroma of waffle, cocoa and hazelnut milk chocolate, strong flavour of sour bread with dark chocolate and hints of charred wood, long sour aftertaste, the strong dominant sourness lightens the body and makes it easy to sip. Highly enjoyable and complex sipping porter.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Very dark brown color with a stable medium beige head. Somewhat roasty malty aroma with nuts (hazelnut) and some chocolate. Sweetish roasted malt flavor with some nuts, a bit of chocolate, and a dry and rather bitter finish with some coffee notes. Medium-bodied. OK.

Pours a dark brown that shows great ruby highlights when held to light. Fluffy off white head that sticks around for a while. Smell is malty, buttery with faint nuttiness. Taste is buttery, and lackluster. A bit of bitterness lingering in the aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel and body. Not all that great for a porter. Maybe a light brown, I missed any dark malt flavors in this one. I can’t see any reason to buy this one again.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown, essentially black, with a creamy, medium head that subsides quickly. Strong yeast aroma, very faint burnt malts. Flavor starts with more bread, then gives some nice roasted coffee and mild tobacco on the tail. Medium bodied, quite smooth, average carbonation. Pretty good.
