This tawny-orange ale immediately assults the senses with the character of hops from the Pacific Northwest. An aroma that combines grapefruit pith and pine resin foreshadows a strongly bitter beer. The flavor is spicy and juicy with citrus dominating over honey and floral notes, then giving way to a dry, chalky bitterness. The almost sweet finish is accentuated by the strength of the alcohol.

Draught @ BRLO Brwhouse, Berlin. Pours dark orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee, pine, resin, herbal hops and grass. Taste is sweet, malty and heavy with caramel, toffee, pine, resin and grass. Finish is sweet, lingering caramely malty and slightly bitter with some pine, grass, resin and hints of gooseberries. Sweet and heavy, old skool resin bomb.

Draft at BitterCreek. Medium brass color, small silky head, lacing coats the glass. Gentle hops aroma, grows bolder in taste. Really nice feel. Doesn’t present itself as an IIPA.

Bottle at home, thanks to James, 22/10/16. Golden orange with a decent off White head. Nose is caramel malt, orange pith, toasted grains, tangy melon, grapefruit. Taste comprises pine resin, citric doused straw, grapefruit, caramel malt, punchy hops. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with lightly aggressive hop bitterness. Decent DIPA with an do skool lilt.

Bottle from GBBF 2016 and drunk at home. Clear orange colour lasting cream coloured head. Mosaic hops I think the label said. They bring a lovely tropical fruit to it. It’s a lovely DIPA. Enough malt but not overly sweet, hoppy without being too bitter. Almost easy drinking apart from a little heat on the finish. Lovely mouthfeel. Fresh hops. Really lovely. Top marks. Mango, pineapple grapefruit. Tangerine. Lovely fruits.

22 oz. bottle, shared by Albert. Release #49, 9.6% ABV. Light yellow pour, with a small, off-white head. The nose is resin, butterscotch, strong floral notes, and basil. Sweet flavor up front, with a mild and very easy bitterness through the finish. Medium body, creamy, lightly bubbly, and easy. This is a straightforward IPA, but wonderfully aromatic. Showcases hoppiness in an unusual way, subtly and elegantly.
