Bottle. Amber color, long lasting frothy head. Somewhat earthy aroma with a bit of hops. Just a bit of citrus. Light hoppy flavor with citrus and a dash of butter. Butterscotch aftertaste. Decent ale.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2018. Deep amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. A sweet beer, with red berries, ripe malts, caramel, and a touch of leafy hop leading to a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Old Neptune, Whitstable on 7th May 2016. Copper with thin dying off white film and almost no lacing. Malty caramel aroma. Caramel malts and berry fruits in-mouth. Nutty, malty finish with some slight vast fruitiness. Smooth, flattish mouthfeel with medium body.

Cask at The Duke of Wellington, Chelsea. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The aroma is sweet, fruity, dull caramel, bread and malt loaf. The taste is crisp, mellow bitterness, caramel, toasted grain, good fresh fruity character and tangy berry with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Perfectly pleasant drinking and the best of the Shep Neame’s beers I had on the day.
