With our 2XIPA, a massive dry hop brings a feverishly hoppy and well-balanced Double IPA. Citrusy hops tease the senses with big aromatics and certifiable bitterness. An enormous haul of hops, including Simcoe and Citra, deliver notes of grapefruit, lemon and doughy sweetness. Double your expectations because this is an ale that demands reverence.

Quarantine Beer #111 sampled at home on 05/03/2020. Clear copper-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a film. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of piney hop, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and caramel malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours amber with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, floral notes, pine. Taste has sweet pine resin, hints of molasses, pine bitterness. Palate has lingering hop oils, mild bitterness for such a heavy ipa, slightly malty.

Bottle. A- Pine, grains, caramel. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Pine, resinous, bitter, caramel, bready. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Can't decide if it was just old or a more traditional IPA. I lean towards the latter. Okay. Doesn't really taste imperialized.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is clear, light orange with trace sparkle, minimal off-white head with poor retention. Aroma is floral, berry, sugar, caramel malts. Taste is initial berry/fruit and malts, with strong resiny bitterness at end. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with slick texture, average carbonation, and bitter, dry, abrupt finish. Overall, the aroma is the standout but taste and palate are overly dominated by resiny bitterness.

Bottle from Tops. Sticky and sickly sweet hops. Pine needles, fairly sweet, uncooked hop pellets. Odd.
