Bottle. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, some liquorice and chocolate. Flavour is cocoa, some roasted tones, coffee and mild toffee to it.

Black beer, tan head. Smells of toasty malt and light coffee. Coffee is much stronger in the flavour, with some chocolate in there too, with toasty malt and maybe just a hint of brown sugar. Straightforward flavour but it's bold and hefty and nicely balanced with a good body to it and a hearty coffee finish.

Dark brown creamy head stayed on a jet black body. Coffee, cinnamon & orange aroma. Medium bodied, smooth creamy & thinning out to a cloying back . Coffee, malt, roasted, orange & chocolate tastes with a piney citrus finish. More like a Porter than a Stout - it still class!

Can. Extra in a trade. Cheers Simon! Just about clear, very dark, chestnut brown. Messy, thin tan head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has ashy malt. Earthy coffee. Dry cocoa. Some notes of vine fruit. Taste is mostly dry, and chocolatey bitter. Light brown sugar sweetness. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Moderate coffee bitterness to finish.

Om keg at the Totnes Brew Company. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Olive sheen. Nose - savoury notes going on. Black olives and soy sauce. Taste - rich savoury and sweet in combination. Toffee and salt. Fruitcake and molasses. Vanilla and black pepper. And of course coffee - but it's really integrated and not overpowering. How refreshing. Palate - medium bodied and crunchy in texture and finish. Some sweetness hanging around. Overall - great stuff.
