Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 7th July 2015. Slightly hazy gold with vanishing off-white non lacing foam. Hoppy bitter aroma. Intensely bitter with smoky notes in-mouth. Herby, hoppy dry finish. Exquisite. A fine mouthfeel and fair amount of body.

Forever Bury Beer Festival 2015. Golden coloured ale. It’s very fruit with a slightly thin texture and plenty of aroma.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from London Beer Lab. The beer pours perfectly clear, lightly effervescent, with a sturdy white froth that lingers. The aroma is bright with grassy and floral hops mixed up with rindy citrus notes, notably tangerine and orange. The flavour is well balanced, with good up-front grassy bitterness that is balanced by a lean biscuity sweetness. There are also additional notes of citrus fruits, some orange rind and grapefruit pith. Light in body with spritely carbonation. The finish is pretty clean with only moderate grassy, resinous hop character, further citrus rind, and pleasant balancing pale malt sweetness. There’s a slight cleaning minerality in the aftertaste, which I don’t mind at all. The more I drink of this beer, the more I like it. There’s a lot of character packed into this 3.8% ABV frame. Golden ale is certainly not a flashy style, but when done right it’s a thing of beauty; this one is done right. (February 2015, score: 3.9)
Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. Great snout, rife with juicy citrus and pale bread. Light sweet flavor with moderate tangerine, melon, orange, bitter straw and grass.. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nice grassy bitter finish, more tangerine. Good stuff. (December 2014, score: 3.6)
