Ugly duckling je zelo posebna vrsta stouta. Tako kot črni raček v svojem leglu, tudi to pivo odstopa od ostalih v stilu. Je svetlejši predstavnik stoutov, dodatek ovsenih kosmičev pa ga naredi kremastega, pitnega in polnega okusa. Da okus ne mine, poskrbi roasted barley, ki pusti dolgotrajen in močan pookus po praženem.

Bottled 330ml. -from Primož Ljubljana. Brownish coloured, medium sized airy off-white head, caramel in the nose. Light roasted malt, chocolate, light caramel and some oats with nutty notes. Sweetish roasty finish.

Tap. Brown color with white head. Aroma is earthy, fresh yeasts, oatmeal. Taste is oatmeal, earthy, nutty, just a touch chocolate. Super velvety mouthfeel with medium soft carbonation. Nice enough, although maybe a bit too heavy on the oatmeal side.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep ruby pour with thin beige layer on top. Pleasantly roasty nose with touch of caramel and subtle hops in the background. Nice. Thin to medium body. Very soft carbonation gives quite smooth texture, very pleasant on the palate. Sweet start leading into a mildly bitter finish. Aroma of roasted caramel malts, coffee and licorice. Slight alcohol presence. A bit grainy. Dry mouthfeel. Overall, pretty good stout. Low carbonation makes body appear somewhat fuller then it actually is. Smooth.

Bottle, 0.50l. Pours hazy ruby brown color with thin creamy light brow head, nice lacing and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and dried fruit. Taste starts by light sweet mildly roasted malt and cocoa, follows grassy with mild fruity sourness, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is light bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. The prettiest duck for sure...

Pours dark brown, topped with a smaller off-white head. Very locely malty nose with dark chocolate, some roastiness and nice vanilla. Creamy body, a bit lighter starts lightly roasty with some sweetness in the back and a bit of bitterness later on. Moderate and lasting aftertaste. Nice one.
