2017 vintage, opened late 2025. Pours clear dark copperbrown. Small white head. Toffee, mild earthyness. Caramelly taste is very nice, fall-leaves, caramelly, dark fruits, some raisin like features. Barrel is very smooth and mellow, obviously since it has a few years on it as well. More than decent, showing no real age downfall ! Medium boozy finish.

What a beer. Just f-ing top notch. The brown ale nutiness is just perfect. The version i got 2017 in beertemple amsterdam in 2023 has clearly been mistreated a bit, but i can tell it’s amazing underneath.

355 ml bottle, vintage 2017. Reddish-brown body, with a small, beige head. Aroma of barrel, caramel, chocolate, dried fruits, marzipan, sweet spices, some roast, slight booze. Tastes similar. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth, warm, a bit boozy, medium sweet, moderate roasty. Delicious, perfectly balanced barrel aged strong ale. Complex and greatly balanced between sweet and roasty notes, with the ABV greatly hidden. Score: 8 / 4 / 9 / 4 / 17

(Bottle, vintage 2017) Cloudy brown colour with frothy tan head. Malty, roasty, hoppy nose with caramel, rye bread, chocolate, resin, orange peel and a touch of alcohol. Malty, roasted taste with notes of caramel, crisp-bread, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak wood, resin, dried orange peel, a touch of dill and a vinous and warming finish with a balanced resiny bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Really tasty and complex with lots of layers: toasty malt, bourbon wood, resiny hops. Great beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a small white head. Aroma is intense vanilla and bourbon, caramel, malt. Big body. Flavour is malty, quite sweet, loads and loads of vanilla, oak, caramel, molasses, biscuit malt. Crazy barrel notes here, this is so full on vanilla and oak, the original brown ale is somewhat lost. Nevertheless an amazing beer if one likes barrel aged beers.

2017 vintage bottle. How have I not rated this yet? Murky copper colored pour, a few bubbles. Boozy aroma, dark malts. Taste is sweet and nutty followed by a rising burn. Some raisiny elements also. Superb!

Amber, clear with a minimal head. A wooden barrel aroma with some caramel and fruit. Sweet with a warm wooden barrels, malt and fruit end. Like. Vintage 2018, bb. for many years. From Vinmonopolet Tromsø 11.2018
