Der SCHUSSENRIEDER Josefsbock ist ein dunkel-bernsteinfarbenes Bockbier, vollmundig und süffig. In den tiefsten Lagerkellern reift es zu einem besonderen Biergenuss, den SCHUSSENRIEDER nur zu Weihnachten und im Frühjahr bietet. Der Josefsbock passt sehr gut zu Süßspeisen nach einem opulenten Mahl. Die dunkle Köstlichkeit, mit einem stattlichen Alkoholgehalt von 6,8 Prozent, stärkt in der kalten Jahreszeit. Bereits im Mittelalter wurde dieses nährreiche Bier von den Chorherren des Schussenrieder Prämonstratenser-Klosters gebraut. Die SCHUSSENRIEDER Brauerei greift mit dem dunklen naturtrüben Bockbier gerne auf diese Tradition zurück und füllt den Josefsbock in stilvolle Bügelflaschen ab. Zu Ehren des heiligen Schutzpatron Josef wird immer am 19. März im SCHUSSENRIEDER Bierkrugstadel der Josefstag gefeiert.

Dark chestnut brown color with medium off-white head. Roasted malt, candy, bread, chocolate. Roasted malt, red fruits syrup, raisins, chocolate, bready notes. Alcohol is hidden. Good.

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch süß röstmalzig, Karamell, leicht schokoladig. Geschmack röstmalzig süß, leicht klebrig fruchtig süß, Karamell, leicht schokoladig, minimal alkoholisch.

500ml bottle. Clear dark reddish brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweetish, dark malty aroma with a nuttily touch. Taste is dry, minimally roasty dark malty with hints of hazelnut, unripe hazelnut, leaves, tobacco, subtle sweetness.

Bottle. Fruity fat malt nose with fine aromatic play. Light hazy ruby amber, Golden brown lacing head. Honeyish sweet start, wild honey, berries, spices, Very light edges, reactively quick finish. Medium body, prickly mouthfeel.

Thanks to quack-duck for the beer! The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Fine malty aroma. Tastes strong and malty, a little bit like plum, well balanced finish. Very drinkable and good bock!

(swing top bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker) Hazy, dark brown colour with a big and dense tanned foamy head. Pretty shy aroma; sweet toast-malty nose with caramel and dried fruits (red berries) and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium body, medium carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel and light fruity notes of dried berries. Sweet and faint bitter malt-accented finish with a light alcoholic note. Not a world-shaking Bock; a bit too sweet for my liking.
