Okay, so this bottle was consumed near the end of a long day of drinking german beer - they were all good - this one was fairly good as well, but I quickly noticed that I had exhausted all the descriptors I could use to describe a german lager - yes it’s crisp - yes it’s grassy - yes, there is a nice balancing bitterness - some beers do it better than this one - others do not - it’s a good german beer - that is all.

(swing top bottle) Hazy, golden to copper colour with a thick and dense off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly nutty toast-malty aroma with caramel and shy herbal hops. Sweet and slightly yeasty-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toasty malt-accented, slightly yeasty and nutty taste with notes of caramel and a delicate herbal hoppy blend; moderately dry and slightly bitter finish. Well-rounded brew (21.IX.08).

bottle, Danke nach Bochum! Hazy amber-copper-brownish colour, medium-sized head. Malty, hints of roasted malt and caramel with a hoppy finish. A nice rural beer.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, amber coloured, thin lacing head; sweet grainy and malty nose with the faintest illusions of smoke (?) and a fruity touch; sweetish-bitter flavour, medium bodied, low carbonation; sweetish-fruity, a bit barnyardy finish with some bitter edges in the aftertaste. A nice "rural" beer, well quaffable......................
