On tap at Esbjerg Beerfestival. It’s a black beer with a small, off-white head leaving some curtains. Roasted malts, tar, burnt notes and charcoal, licorice and some sweetness in the aroma. The flavor has a touch of licorice initially, with tar and burnt malt borderlining charcoal soon taking over, followed by some sweetness, coffee-like bitterness and hints of dried fruits. Burnt, bitter finish. Full-bodied and dry. An intense and powerful beer, not much drinkability, but a beautiful sipper. 091022

Bottle at Chriso’s Kook Tasting 09. Thanks to The Wolf for this one. Black colour, lasting tan head. Oily soy sauce on aroma. Burnt dark choc. Bit disappointing. Finish falls away. OK, but could do with more body.

Draught at EsBF09. Mild creamed coffee aroma. Black colour. Very small brown head. The flavour has a mild coffee note at first, turning nicely creamy with a distinct and rought alcoholic finish. There also seems to be a grassy hop flavour underneath the coffee notes.

50 cL bottle at Kolding Ølmesse, only served when saying the right keyword :) Pours pitch black with a small chocolate brown head. Roasted dark malty aroma. Sweet note as well. Flavour is sweet and dark roasted. Molasses and overripe fruity. Light yeasty touch. Nice lingering hoppy and liqourice like flavoured finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Thick almost tar-like burned nose but also raisins and other dried fruit. Very full-bodied, fat hard roasted malts with a light smoky edge - peaty smoke that is. Lots of prunes, raisins and a little licorice. Warming alcoholic finish with a light malt bitterness. A nice and positive surprise from Randers. 221009
