With four traditional English roasted malts, this award winning complex beer gives aromas of chocolate, vanilla and mellow coffee. Full in the mouth and surprisingly easy to drink. CAMRA Champion Porter of Britain 2018.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Vague chocolate malt aroma (whatโs that malty chocolate drink called?) - had to strain me nose. Jet black, cola brown in the light. Thin bubbly beige head. Sweet with hint of bitterness, more so into the finish. Chocolate, cream and a light toasted element. Some berry sharpness. Medium bodied. Creamy. Sediments brush on the tongue. Soft carbonation. Low key finish. Decent porter. Am told that the water in thid part of Hamsphire is perfect for Porters. Certainly have enjoyed those Hants porters Iโve had so may well be true.

Cask @ Guide Dog, Southampton. Dark brown, almost black with a small beige head. Nice aroma of roasted dark malt, coffee and some dry fruit. Flavor is smooth, pleasant roasted dark malt with roasted coffee, plums and balanced bitterness. Medium body and good aftertaste. Really nice, smooth, classic porter without any nonsense.

Cask at the Guide Dog. Clear deep maroon color, beige head. Nice aroma of dark berries and coffee taste has plums, coffee grounds, chocolate, raisins. Light body. Very tasty. My first porter of this trip, and it makes for a good change from the chewy American chocolate bombs.
