While the malt and hops give this beer an amazing copper color, medium body, and a smooth mouth feel; it’s the yeast that sets this one apart from other amber ales. Inspired by Belgium’s beer, women and mussels we thought it would be cool to give our Amber a little Belgian touch. We accomplish this by using an “almost Belgian” yeast strain producing similar esters and flavors commonly found in more traditional Belgian beers.

Botella de 33 cl en el lupulo. 08-01-14. Color ambar anaranjado bastante turbio, espuma blanca muy poco persistente. Aromas afrutados con bastante carbonico, recuerda a sidra achampañada. Cuerpo ligero muy fácil de beber. Sabores afrutados manzana (melocoton, mango, piña...) y cereal, bastante gas y poco poco amargor. Bastante peculiar y ligera, para repetir.

355 ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head. Metallic aromas, rust and iron. Something lactic. Taste is malty, with a good caramel sweetness. Getting a nice fruity hop bitterness at the end, but the aroma is all wrong.

Bottle at home from the Cask, Pimlico, 16/09/13 (£2 bin end sale). Murky amber with a good sized light beige head. Nose is light toffee, fruits, earthy, tarte fruit notes, light smoke. Taste comprises bready malts, tarte fruit, slightly lactic. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Past its prime verging on an unintentional sour.

Dobre, mocno mętne, bursztynowe. Metnosc w tym amber Ale mnie zaskoczyla, nie spodziewalem sie tego. Wielki plus za to. Smak takze maslano-slodowy z lekka nuta karmelu. Piana takze wysoka i spora.

33cl bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Hazy cloudy amber colour with thick beige head. A malty beer. Not huge hop. More like a British bitter to be honest. Ok, if not very exciting.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis picked up at Zipps. Pours a somewhat cloudy, darkish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Bitter, blood orange, spoiled(?), tangy aroma. Herbal, woody, tangy, orange citrusy flavor. I’m not sure if this bottle was mishandled or what. Tastes really fucked up to me.

355 ml bottle bought @ Ølbutikken. Pours hazy goldenish red with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with dark bread, orange peal, moist wood, wet grass, red apples, cookie dough, compost, alcohol, rotten peaches, overripe papaya, overripe pineapple, pine, tulips, moist soil and hints of glue. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, malty and tiny metallic with bread, wood, orange zest, pine, compost, lemon zest, grass, cookie dough, flower nectar and hints of red apples. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny watery and light bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with bread, wood, grass, pine, oat meal cookies and lemon zest.
