Pint @ The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury. Pours dark with over-enthusiastic head. Had to sip before being topped up. Taste is rather delish, with a big chocolate feature underpinning distinctly soft ashtray / roasted malt flavours.

Cask. Shakespeares, Sheffield. The occasion didn’t suit note taking. Becky liked it. Good enough for me...

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Pours dark brown with a thick, foamy beige head. Mellow ashy roast aroma with dry cocoa accents. Light sweet flavor with lots of tobacco, wet ash, earth, baking cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish with some burnt wood, more ash, dried dark fruits and bittersweet chocolate. Fair.

Cask ale, half, at Euston Tap. Body was dark as the night with fawn-coloured bubbles at the surface. Dotted spots to the glass. Roasted, earthy malts on the nose. Taste of dark malts and dried fruits, moments of chocolate and figs can be spotted. Roasted bitterness to the ending. Fine bodied. Decent stout version (London 24.09.2014).
