Scotch ales are characterized by their full body, pronounced malty sweetness and low hop levels. Generally deep amber to brown in color, with caramel and subtle roasted malt flavors, Scotch ales can feature smoky flavors (derived from a small measure of peated malt) or, more traditionally, no smoky flavor.
Our Scotch Ale is a bold amber beer that balances smooth rich sweetness with a hint of smoked malt. The infusion of this subtle smokiness invites images of heather fields, platters of haggis, & the poetry of William McGonagall. Enjoy one with your mates!

A candied nose with a touch of bubblegum and malt. The taste profile features caramel malt, brown sugar, and that hint of bubblegum. A heavy, fizzy carbonation blocks the potential for more complex tastes to emerge. the body is a bit thin for an 8% scotch ale as well.

Flaska delad med Samuel214, tack! Bäst före-datum passerat med dryga 2,5 år. Brunmurken, smutsdisig med fingerhögt, gräddigt, beigevitt skum. Fadd, matt doft av fudge, karamell, farinsocker, mörk torkad frukt, smörkola, russin, gammal kartong, malt och lönnsirap. Mellanstor, len kropp. Ligger nära i smaken.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from the brewery. Aroma is strong caramel and bread with lighter vanilla that you can smell from a mile away. Appearance is clear reddish amber with attractive sparkle and fleeting finger-width off-white head with trace lacing. Taste is moderately sweet rich caramel, earth, light alcohol. Palate is medium bodied with thick, creamy texture, average to soft carbonation and lightly sweet finish. Overall, I wish the taste had been as strong as the aroma. This certainly doesn’t fall prey to being overly sweet like some scotch ales, but I would have liked a bolder flavor.

(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit (dates), caramel, chocolate, hazelnuts, blood orange, bread and gentle hints of smoke. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, liquorice, dried fruit, dates, brown sugar, hazelnuts, chocolate, orange peel, raspberries, gentle hints of smoke and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Bold chewy malt character and a gentle spicy bitterness. Excellent balance. Lovely beer.
