Draught at the brewpub. She said it was a seasonal. Creamy mouthfeel. Very flavourful. A little sweet, quite malty with some rye feel. Low bitterness. The flavour is a little caramelly, but not toffee or butterscotch. Hazy red/brown colour. Small but stable light brown head. 6 3 7 4 18 Bottle, 5.0%. Roasted, coffeeish aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Very small head. The flavour has fresh-ground coffee, slightly sweet dark maltiness. A bit high carbonation. 7 4 7 4 15

Bottle, thanks MIP. Big roast chocolate aroma with a hint of vanila. Dark dark chestnut, beautifull frothy off-white head. Creamy mouthfeel, like a good cup of cocoa, herbs, good balance. Very very good Dunkel.

Bottled (bought at the brasserie): Dark-malty, a bit toasted nose with a tinge of ground coffee, reddish-amber coloured, slowly collapsing off-white head; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; moderate dark malty finish, underpinned by some bitterness and a discreet fruitiness, a tinge of cacao is also detectable. Good and pleasant..........

(bottle) Clear, reddish amber colour with a mid-sized tanned foamy head. Moderately sweet toast-malty, bready and earthy aroma with light notes of caramel and a touch of smoke. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Robust roast-malty, slightly bready taste with caramel and liquorice; almost dry, roasty and hop-bitter finish with a good length. Aromatic Dunkel.
