Light bronze colour. Aroma is interesting, oxidized and maybe banana. Tastes a bit cardboard. Ancient weissbier, a comedy tick.

Poured from 440mL bottle at my 39th bday (expires 2023/03). Saved from my 2014 trip to South Africa to share one day (today's the day!). Clear-ish gold with minimal white head. Light esters, weird fruity feint oxidated tartness, better than expected for its age and style, but still fairly bad.

500ml @ Ryan's (thx for keeping this since your South Africa 2014 trip "to share it with beer geeks at some point" 😂) on his 39th celebration.
Aroma: malty, oxidized, some esters.
Taste: along the same lines.
Overall: not bad for 14 years old stuff from the macrobrewery.

[2011 vintage] Bottle pour. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Skunky malts and wheat on the nose. Flavour has a lot of cardboard, excess sugars, soft wheat. Meh.

Fra flaske på hotellet i Johannesburg feb-20: klar gylden med fint skum som varer. Søt citrusfruktighet sammen med litt banan og tyggis. Frisk og lettdrikkelig.

Clear golden, white head. Yeast and banana aroma, some clove too. Bittersweet, yeasty flavour. Slightly dry finish, ok refreshing.

Nice and lightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall head that fades nicely to a small bit of pale white on top. Aroma of bread, yeast, coriander seed, light wheat, grass, citrus and a dash of floral hops. Light-bodied; Ultra mild with a grassy flavour at first that gives way to some wheat, yeast, coriander seed, citrus, guava and papaya flavour that shows some of the sweetness on the very end. Aftertaste shows the depth of the wheat with some light grass and hay flavours then pushed aside by the wheat, yeast and touch of funky characteristics coupled with a light taste of fruit sugars. Overall, a very nice and flavourful krystalweiss with a decidedly South African and specifically Paarl vibe with some fresh fruits and juicy kick to a nice and mellow flavour throughout that gives it a much needed boost of complexity, but still very easy to drink. Great to sample in the warm weather and heat, which would be the opposite time of the year right now down in ZA! Definitely worth the space in your suitcase should you, like me, decided to bring this halfway around the world! I sampled this 440 mL South Africa-styled bottle, purchased from TOPS Cape Quarter (Green Point) in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa on 12-August-2015 for ZAR28,00 sampled at home on one of the last few hot days of the year here in Washington on the other side of this earth on 05-September-2017.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Heavily phenolic aroma with notes of cloves and band aid, mildly wheaty and subtle citric background. Mildly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft, if not tame carbonation. Moderately wheaty and subtle fruity taste, again with loads of phenolic spices; rather slim and phenolic, mildly wheaty finish. Not convincing. 10.I.17

Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is intensely sweet apple juice with some nutty stuff below. Taste is sour juicy yeast. Finish of some milky sourness. Ok.
