Next up, a lager. There are two schools of thought here, you can either keep it classic and nail the colours of Germany or the Czech Republic to the mast, or you can freestyle. Lost Lager is the best of both worlds. BrewDog Head of Production Jason Pond has spent months dialling in a brand new dry-hopped pilsner that has, at its heart, two secret weapons.
The first is the contemporary German hop variety Saphir – renowned for a vibrancy of citrus and stone fruit. The second is the deployment of lager yeast from the world-beating Weihenstephan. Conditioned for 28 days, Lost Lager is destined to be a crisp, clean pilsner with hints of spice and a zesty lime marmalade character. Prepare to lose yourself at the end of the month.

Can sample at a tasting at Oren's place. Pale yellow. Grains, floral and grassy hops, a bit of sulphur, sweetish malt, bitter finish. Decent.

US brewed can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam Grainy malt aromas, light peppery hops and herbal notes. Thin on the palate, mango and pear notes. Lingering crackery malt and lemon. Not bad.

Can from BrewDog online. Clear pale golden body with a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of lemony hops, Rice Krispies and watercress. Flavour of grass, lemon and a crisp hoppy finish. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. I thought this was very good - much cleaner and hoppier than any other BrewDog Lager I’ve tasted. I’d be happy to see this added to the core range.

Keg at BD Shoreditch, 27/09/18. Light golden blonde with a decent white covering. Nose is pale malts, bready notes, crisp and clean, grass. Taste comprises pale malts, corn, lemon drizzle, straw, toasted grains, bread dough, cereals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent clean drinking chuggable lager.

On draft at BD Leicester. Yellow, clear and fizzy with a huge creamy white head. Floral hoppy aroma with grassy lime notes. Nice. Sweet refreshing taste with just a touch of the raw brainless affecting many lagers. Finish is a little bit saccharin but that's okay. An above average lager.

Keg at Brewdog Shoreditch. A crystal clear golden yellow coloured pour with a a lasting white froth. Good lacing. Aroma is clean cereal grains, light herbal hop, touch of apple. Flavour is composed of nice layered pale grains, cereal, honey, light husk. Hops are subtle, leafy, light herbal. Palate is clean and crisp, spritzy carbonation, semi drying finish. Honesty very drinkable. Could smash many pints.

Thx! Sampled draft @ BrewDog BXL. Another rubbish pale lager tasting BrewDog beer preceded by a marketing campaign, sigh. Clear apple golden, soapy white head. Nose is dull vegetable oil, corn, strash. Not too vegetable but still fizy, oily weeds & vegetable, hay,..; Fizzy not the worst in category but this is yet another overprized marketing pale lager-esque nonsense by them, getting exhausting.

Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours clear yellow with a moderate, foamy white head. The aroma is quite fresh, clean, grassy, lemon peel, lemon verbena, biscuit and doughy white bread. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, quite soft, doughy bready, biscuit, cracker, straw, grass and a touch of citrus with a dry finish. Light to medium body and moderate, pillow carboantion. Super soft, clean and drinkable. Way better than king pin etc.
