Draught @ Fermentoren. Aroma is mildish with ripe fruits. Also hints of licorice. Flavour has licorice, ripe fruits, alcohol and raisins. Nice, like a turbocharged Gouden Carolus Christmas.

Keg at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Pitch black, creamy beige head. Chocolaty brandy aroma. Sweet with full body and soft mouthfeel. Chocolate and grain, aniseed and slivovic. Intense alcohol dominate the finish. Interesting, but over-imperialized.

(Keg at O’Conner’s, 20140923) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, smoke, Belgian style yeast and chocolate. Palate was full bodied and rather burning with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, Belgian style yeast, ash, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, ashy and bitter. Feels like a version of Gulden Draak with burnt malts.

Draught (O’Connor’s, Uppsala) - Very dark brown, almost black, with a vinous aroma featuring notes of plums, dried fruit and glögg. The taste is sweet, hoppy, roasted and spicy. Notes of fruitcake, liquorice and roasted malt can be detected. Very distinctive and it’s almost like a wine in many ways. The finish is rich and very warming.
