bottle, díky pane doktore! Golden with a small white head. Smooth and velvety from the start. Full-bodied malty flavours dominate, not too sweet, with some resiny-grassy hops.

Bottle: Clear, copper coloured, quickly collapsing small off-white head; sweetish grainy-dusty nose, herbal hops are very well hidden; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light bodied for a beer of 6.5%, not so soft; slightly lingering grainy and herbal-hoppy finish. Disappointing...

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig süß, fruchtig. Geschmack sehr malzig, fruchtig, getreidig, minimal alkoholisch.

Clear amber with an orange shine, slow-bubbled carbonation to slim, slightly irregular yellowish head. Very clear toffee-caramel nose, remarkably alike to one of those English wrapped sweets. Then mildering to a grassy, less sweet nose. Really very inviting, ideal for spring. The main taste is on the sharp of the edge between bitter and sweet and I DON’T mean neutral. Remarkable unedited balance, WOW! Again some grassy, hayish, straw notes and some mild spice. Warming up, classical bready notes surfacing, again mildered by noble German hops. As to the palate/MF, I feel like the car journalist who HAS to find something negative to say about the dreamcar he’s testing. Yes, it IS a bit thinnish in texture, just caramel, restsugars filling in. Talk about "searching for shipnails at low tide"... Sebastian "Doppelbock", I’m going to ask you for more of these Maibocks, my friend. I could retire on them.

Test vom 7.7.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,6,12,6,11,7 - 7,75
