Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear amber-brown with small off white top. Aroma of malts, light brown bread, caramel, dried fruit, light grassy-floral hop. Flavour is like the aroma but with the dial turned up. Big sweet caramel malt and fruity middle, hops give a nice contrast and bitterness to balance, quite a boozy number as well. Very good.

500ml ordered as part of a delivery from Beers of Europe, Norfolk, and drunk at home. Light brown and clear with a tiny bit of off-white head. Sweet caramel, vanilla, toast, hazelnut on the nose. The taste is sweet, sweet, sweet. And boozy. More caramel mid-sip, leading to just a little bit of earthy happiness before it is swallowed up in a boozy finish. More nutty notes in the aftertaste. Body is fairly slight for the ABV with carbonation on the heavy side. I love this style, and it's a rare treat to have one. This may not be the absolute pinnacle of the style but it's good enough for me!

500ml bottle, online from Beers of Europe. Pours clear, dark amber red with a decent beige head. Aroma: sweet malt, slightly fruity, molasses, caramel, toffee, dried fruits. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, malty, more dried fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses, boozy. Medium+ body with frothy carbonation. One dimensional & boozy, I found this hard work. Glad I was sharing

Bottle online from Beersofeurope. Pours a clear deep caramel brown colour with a large throthy off-white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toasty brown bread and leather. Taste has more of the same notes as the aroma with a little added cherry, toffee and brown sugar. Medium to full body, fair carbonation and a smooth oily mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden for the strength. Nice Eisbock.

Bottle picked up from REWE, Mainburg. Drinking this sat at home Sunday 22nd March 2020, listening to The Murder Capital - When I have Fears. We have Kostas with us. Pours mid amber, good clarity, a white head sits atop. Sweet, with caramel, malty, a little bread in fact it's biscuit. Also despite the abv it still comes across as a bit thin for the style. Soft mouthfeel, it's ok.

Last beer of a mini Bavarian tasting session at home with myself and no one else on 15th Feb 2018. 500ml bottle; BB10th May 2018, poured into an old Wolnzacher Brauhaus half-litre glass stein. Red hue to the brown body, thin off-white crown. Semi-sweet malts rule the aroma and flavour, some dark , dried fruits like prunes and dates within the maltiness taste wise. Boozy and interesting, liked it.
